KCI has designed, manufactured, and installed various kinds of Carriers
for assembly line applications. Examples include: doors, seats, truck frames,
and “3- rail, clam-shell type”. This picture shows a door-trim panel carrier.
It is used to move the trim panel to a sub-assembly location so that it can be
installed on the sheet metal part of the door.

A Synchronized Carrier transports an operator back and forth
along the assembly line with numerous parts. The speed is synchronized with the
line allowing the operator to assemble parts to the vehicle without having to
walk to keep pace. When the operator has completed the installation on a
vehicle, he presses a button and the carrier will return to home position.

KCI provides specialized Material Carts for paint skids,
transponders, bumpers, and drive shafts to name a few. Shown, is a truck frame
cart used to transport a new model frame from the receiving department to a new
model practice build-up area. Before full production, a great deal of time is
spent practicing each assembly operation. This cart provides easy access to the
frame by allowing the operator to become familiar with changes on the new
model.

This I.P. Carousel is for the instrument panels of a SUV. It
holds several different units near the assembly line. In the event that a
vehicle is out of sequence or the regular delivery sequence of the instrument
panel is incorrect, the operator can select the correct one from the carousel
for vehicle installation.
